My journey into the digital landscape commenced in 2009 when the daunting $5,000 price tag for a website pushed me to chart my own course. Determined and driven, I dove headfirst into the world of all things ‘digital.’
Fueled by sheer need and a appetite for knowledge, I embarked on a self-guided voyage that led me to create my very own website. This initial success and my love for design ignited my passion for web design, setting the stage for an ongoing exploration into the realm of digital marketing. As the years unfolded, I tirelessly honed my marketing skills, always striving to stay ahead in the ever-evolving digital terrain.
In 2013, I was compelled to take a leap of faith. I bid farewell to my ‘day job’ in software training and embarked on a new adventure by launching my inaugural design company. The entrepreneurial spirit combined with a bit of ‘craziness’ was all I need to make the decision that I was going to start an actual business.
Zooming ahead to 2016, I celebrated another milestone through the incorporation of my business. As I continued to evolve and expand, my expertise embraced a broad spectrum of industries. From crafting websites for costume designers in the film industry to collaborating with top-tier designers in the heart of New York City, my journey has been as diverse as it has been fulfilling. Notably, my role in conceiving the Save BC Film Website in 2014 stands as a testament to my unwavering commitment to grassroots development.
Amid the global challenges ushered in by the COVID-19 pandemic, I didn’t merely adapt – I thrived. Drawing upon years of experience, I conceived and launched The First Step Business Accelerator, fortified by the support of a corporate sponsor. This program exceeded our expectations and I was honored to see the program be the recipient of the British Columbia Economic Development Association (BCEDA) 2021 BC Economic Development Award for Economic Recovery and Resiliency. This initiative was crafted to empower small businesses during these unprecedented times, equipping them with the tools and guidance to establish a effective online presence.
My story embodies perseverance, learning, and growth. What began as a personal quest to overcome financial obstacles has evolved into a career defined by creativity, innovation, and an unrelenting drive to uplift others.
